Female fans are envious

Katherine Kelly says female fans are envious of her because her character Becky bedded hunky Jason Grimshaw. Katherine Kelly said: “Girls are really jealous of me as they fancy Jason – they all say they don’t blame Becky for going with a married man as they would too if it was Jason.”

”Ryan Thomas who plays him is a lovely guy - he's very popular with the make-up ladies. I wasn't nervous about doing love scenes with him."

But Katherine Kelly says that’s she’s not certain whether the on/off story with Jason will last.

But while women fans often approach her, male viewers rarely recognize her.

“I haven’t got any Valentine cards apart from one from a 10-year-old boy who has promised to sort out Jason for Becky!” Katherine also exposed that she only gets known when she’s scruffy like her café worker character Becky.

“My best disguise is when I’m all dressed up with make-up and high heels and nobody knows who the hell I am.”

Katherine admitted that she did get afraid making the programme last summer at the Gaiety Theatre, which is haunted by a strange lady in black, and the island’s most paranormal residence Milntown House.

Katherine Kelly said: “I was nervous and did get scared at times which made me giggle. But I didn’t see anything which made me really scared.

“I’ve never had a first hand experience of the supernatural, but I do believe in it. My Irish grandmother was a big believer in ghosts and used to tell us stories.”
